Define your priorities for the day – focus on the most complex and urgent tasks at hand. Know what needs to be done today and what can wait until tomorrow.
2. Write down the tasks
Write down your tasks and keep the list at hand – this will help your brain focus. Break down complex tasks into simple steps – the task will be done much faster, and without procrastination.
3. Practice single-tasking
Studies have shown that our brains are wired to give maximum concentration to only one task at a time. Hence, always focus on one thing at a time.
4. Use the 7-second rule
If you plan to do something – take any action related to this task within the first 7 seconds. If you don’t act within the first 7 seconds – it is very likely you will postpone the task.
5. Take 10 minutes break every work block
Plan your work in blocks and give yourself 10 minutes break after each block. You’ll come back to the task with a much sharper focus.
6. De-clutter your desk
Keep your work desk clean and tidy. Remove anything that can distract you – you will be surprised how a clean table can increase your productivity.
7. Write down your values
What are your main values and goals? Which activities during the day help you come closer to your goal and which only distract? Always be in tune with our core values and goals, and self-check frequently.
